About Absolute Climbing

Absolute Climbing was founded with a simple belief: that the future of climbing should be smarter, more sustainable, and more creative. Born in Boulder, Colorado and led by professional climber Alex Waterhouse, we design and manufacture a new generation of macros that deliver real advantages—for gyms, setters, and the planet.

We specialize in lightweight, high-performance climbing macros made using thermoformed recycled ABS plastic. Our holds are designed from the ground up to solve the common pain points of traditional fiberglass volumes: they’re lighter to carry, faster to set, and ship more affordably worldwide thanks to their low weight and high durability. Each hold features our patent-pending angled insert system and rear support spacers to ensure solid attachment without flanges or bulky reinforcement. That means cleaner shapes, tighter setting, and longer-lasting performance.

Our production is based in the USA, ensuring consistent quality and short lead times. We’re already trusted by major gyms and hold brands for OEM manufacturing and collaborative projects—and we’re expanding globally.

Whether you're a setter or gym owner, Absolute Climbing offers innovative shapes and trusted durability in a modern package. And when the texture eventually wears down? Our holds are designed to be retextured and recoated for a second (or third) life with Retex, our hold retexturing service that aims to keep holds out of landfill.

Absolute Climbing: High-performance holds with less weight, less waste, and more to love.
